US Opportunity & Product Launch Assessment of a Novel Epilepsy Therapeutic

A large pharmaceutical client needed to evaluate the market attractiveness of their new epilepsy therapeutic in the US and assess various market launch scenarios given a changing competitive landscape and likely generic introduction.

Approach & Results
The Life Science Strategy Group (LSSG) team of consultants worked with the client to detail and implement a plan to conduct up to 100 phone interviews and Internet surveys with neurologists, general and family practitioners and health plans to collect various research data including AED prescription volume, conjoint analysis, and target product profile adoption estimates under various market scenarios. Using interview insights and LSSG therapeutic and modeling expertise, product launch strategies including clinical development and managed care strategies were developed and revenue forecast scenarios provided. The client incorporated LSSG´s strategic recommendations into its product launch planning.
