Ken Smith, MBA
Co-founder & Managing Member
Ken Smith is co-founder and Managing Member of Life Science Strategy Group with over 25 years of life science consulting experience specializing in strategy development, opportunity assessments, new product planning, licensing and partnering, and market analytics. Life Science Strategy Group clients served include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic, drug discovery, medical device companies, and government and non-profit organizations. He has consulted on numerous therapeutic areas, including CNS and neurodegenerative disease, pain management, urology and women’s health, ophthalmology, and metabolic disease.
Jon Meyer, MSc, MBA
Co-founder & Managing Member
Jon Meyer is co-founder and Managing Member of Life Science Strategy Group. For over 20 years, Mr. Meyer has managed contract research service engagements across all phases of preclinical, clinical, and commercial development and is the CRO Industry Consulting Practice Leader at LSSG. He has also consulted extensively with pharmaceutical, and biotechnology clients in areas including dermatology, oncology, CNS, pain management, and infectious disease, among others. His functional expertise includes opportunity assessments, pricing and reimbursement analyses, forecasting, competitive benchmarking, positioning and messaging strategy.
Wade Sunada, Ph.D.
Dr. Wade Sunada is a Managing Consultant with Life Science Strategy Group (LSSG) and has over 15 years of life sciences strategy consulting experience. Dr. Sunada’s primary interests are in the application of technology and data to health, including clinical trial technologies, life sciences research and diagnostic technologies, and innovative therapeutic technologies such as CRISPR and CAR-T cell therapy. Dr. Sunada´s functional expertise includes pre- and post-launch product planning and strategy, medical device technology assessments, opportunity assessments, licensing and partnering strategy, reimbursement strategy, and strategic planning.
Marianna Hecht, MBA
Mrs. Marianna Hecht is a Sr. Consultant with the Life Science Strategy Group with over 15 years of experience with functional expertise including opportunity assessments, scenario analysis, messaging strategy, and corporate strategic planning. Mrs. Hecht has completed engagements with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and contract research companies in areas including oncology, pain management, rheumatology and nephrology, PONV, preclinical, and clinical trial development, as well as patient /consumer-driven research/ buying patterns, and pricing assessments.
Ms. Li is a Consultant with Life Science Strategy Group. For nearly 5 years Ms. Li has provided market research and operational support to LSSG’s clients on biopharmaceutical and CRO industry engagements. In addition, Ms. Li has functional expertise in pricing analysis, statistical analysis techniques, CRM administration, and manages LSSG’s extensive market research panel. Ms. Li received her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley.
Alexander R. O'Rourke
Mr. O'Rourke is a Senior Analyst with Life Science Strategy Group, providing market research and operational support to LSSG's consulting teams. Prior to LSSG, Mr. O'Rourke conducted molecular biology research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Mr. O'Rourke carries functional life science expertise in data analysis and project management. Mr. O'Rourke earned his Bachelor's degree in Molecular & Cell Biology with an emphasis in Cell & Developmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
